Today we welcomed a new customer to TSR Performance, Mike had contacted Revo directly and was recommended to contact us to discuss options for enhancing the performance of his wonderful facelift RS3.
Mike also enquired with us about custom mapping, which we can provide for these vehicles however after talking through his criteria we explained that a Revo map would be better suited to his needs as Mike wanted to keep the car refined, while optimising the cars performance.
Using our 4WD MAHA rolling road, we ran the car in stock form to attain base figures and health check the vehicle after which the new Revo Stage 1 map was loaded, we can chose from a number of files depending on the fuel grade the owner intends to be using, we of course always suggest a 99 RON fuel for Turbo vehicles.
After confirming the new software had loaded successfully, several logging runs were carried out to ensure all critical engine parameters were within specified ranges and the overall car is optimised.
We then carry out a series of power runs which are logged via the MAHA Dyno.
Attention to detail is key when tuning high performance vehicles of this nature, with so many systems running on the vehicle it can be easy for a tuner to overlook a critical piece of data, however with our host of experience and specific product knowledge we can pin point any potential issues before a problem is caused.
With this in mind, a road test is carried out before we finally sign the car off as complete and hand it back to the customer, knowing the vehicle is performing as it should and ready to be enjoyed.
As a sidenote, the 2.5L 5 Cylinder "DAZA" engine in these cars truly does give a wonderful soundtrack when under load and on boost, it really woke our dyno cell up!
